    What I don’t under stand on a new install why are they using unions on the fill pipe also on the vent pipe that gives more places for leaks it’s less work to use solid pipes up to the elbows. Also why run the copper pipes from the bottom of the tank were the sludge and moisture is.. that bung is for draining moisture. I would use black pipe to an elbow then a quarter turn valve with a plug on the end. Bring the copper from the top where you can raise the pipe up out of any sludge plus less risk of leaks. I don’t understand why you use a smaller vent pipe then the fill pipe that puts pressure on the tank with time and the tank getting weak spots could cause a leak when filling. Can you imagine what that plastic drip pan will look like in 15 years I don’t believe it would contain a leak.

    WOW, I guess I can't get what I pay for, The only thing the technician did to my unit was replace the nozzle and Fuel filter, All he wants to do is try to sell me a new unit because mine was installed in 1994, But still functions well. Had to call him back within 3 months of preventive maintenance to replace the flame sensor because the wire was petrified And pinch together From where it was crushed underneath the spark Box. That was another $160 on top of $120 paid 3 months ago.

    We were about to recommend your video on how a tank is installed to somebody who asked on our youtube channel, until we saw you put the tank gauge on. Not only is it installed with the float over the fill pipe, every time we deliver we will be putting 80 gallons a min pressure right on the float - - it should be where the float is on the other side of the tank. Its also too long and going to hit the end of the tank in that position. On top of that you guys are bending the rods that connect the float. If you are installing a gauge in an empty tank its really important that you lift the swing arm/float so it spins in place. You take the glass off and pull up on the rod and force the float all the way up as you spin it. What this installer did is just spin it in place. Those rod the float is attached too are too long to clear the sides of the oil tank. So as you spin you are bending the rods. The gauge is no longer accurate and can get stuck down the road and not work. A problem for oil companies like us that have to keep these tanks filled.

    • @FisherF70FTW
      @FisherF70FTW 2 роки тому

      So in regard to your comment about the rods getting bent on insides of tank, the round piece on the bottom of the rod has the ability to spin around so as its turning inside of the tank it is not getting hung up. Correct me if I'm wrong but it just seems this piece is meant for that purpose.

    at 45sec "a tuneup will avoid service call"....... BS!! well, yes it will avoid CERTAIN problems but with statements like that, its noras fault so many customers believe that bs & try to blame you / not pay when a part breaks 4 or 8 weeks later. sometimes after a tuneup a cust. says "so ill be trouble free this winter?" I respond , "can't predict it". ......& what genius installed that filter like that on the wm gold in this video?...... he goes through all that trouble to jump tt around 13:25 interesting

      8:54 mark - that is the reason why you never use portable power generators inside or near a garage. The CO that can be released can be way too much for you to handle - and can cause you to pass out - in extreme cases, death is possible.

    actually if u fire up burner then remove F n F wires and place a jumper acroos F n F and the burner continues to run u hav a bad cad cell..this is in regards to the 1.5 resitor there speaking of,,,in other words u think the cell is bad..light off burner remove FF place jumper at FF terminals..If burner now stays lit replace cad cell and holder assy aswell..Pete da Boilerman NYC

      That's often true. I've seen boilers where someone put the wrong nozzle in and it won't see. I've also seen soot donuts on the head that won't let the cad eye read. I've seen oil burners where someone cut out sections out of the static plate because it wouldn't see. Usually they had the wrong nozzle or they messed with the head setting and had a shitty flame.

    This is a great and educational video. For many decades I've been using gas appliances. Every now and then always felt light-headed. Long story behind it but with all this going on and after an episode I had with carbon monoxide poisoning... I'm switching to electricity. Yes it might be more expensive but it's much safer. I've always been a gas person until I ended up in the hospital. Fearful but educated from what happened to me and videos like these I always keep a detector a portable detector when ever I go to my friends house, family and also businesses. I see a bunch of my friends and family who don't even have a carbon monoxide tester or smoke detector, I end up buying it for them for fear something might happen to them. People need to be educated about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. People take it too lightly and think that they have proper ventilation.
